Dear Shark Families,

We are excited about the upcoming spelling bee!

Mark Twain Spelling Bee Dates:
Round 1 will take place in homeroom on 1/31, 2/1 or 2/2 (this is a written test).  
Make-Up Session on 2/3 during lunch (12:45-1:15) on zoom for any student absent.
The zoom link will be posted in schoology.   
Students who advance to the next round will be notified on Sunday 2/6.

Round 2: During lunch by grade level (written):
Wednesday - 2/9 – 8th Grade in library from 12:45-1:15
Thursday - 2/10 – 7th Grade in library from 12:45-1:15
Friday - 2/11 – 6th Grade in library from 12:45-1:15 
Students notified if they advanced by 9pm on 2/11.

Round 3: Monday 2/14 from 12:45-1:15 in library (written)
Students notified if they advanced by 9pm on 2/14.
 
Finale: Wednesday 2/16 afterschool in auditorium (this event is for students who advance only).  This is an ORAL spelling bee.  

 

This is also a FUNDRAISER!
To collect pledges, go to www.pledgestar.com/marktwain/ and register.  It takes just a few minutes. Click “Not Registered For This Year’s Event” Enter your name and email address, then click “Submit” .  Follow the instructions on-screen to register students. When you finish, the system emails or texts pledge requests to your family and friends, and allows them to make secure credit, debit or paypal donations online. You get notified each time a pledge is made, and you can track your pledge progress online. Call 1-888-598-7510 if you need help. It is really simple and takes just a few minutes. For those who registered last year, you can import your list of contacts from last year and/or add new ones.  
Folks can pledge any amount, per word or a flat rate,
no contribution is too small and all are appreciated.
